1. What cookies and similar technologies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies include local storage and service-worker caches. This policy explains which of these Be Prepared uses and why, under the EU ePrivacy Directive (as implemented in Cyprus by Law 112(I)/2004), the GDPR and the UK PECR.
2. What we use
| Name / type | Purpose | Category | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
lang, fs, maplayers (local storage) | Remember language, text size and chosen map layers | Strictly necessary | Until you clear it |
checks, calc, info (local storage) | Save checklists, calculator and wallet card on your device | Strictly necessary | Until you clear it |
alerts and map data cache (local storage) | Show recent map data offline and reduce requests | Strictly necessary | Refreshed automatically |
Service worker cache pg-* | Make the app work offline | Strictly necessary | Until the next app update |
| Vercel Web Analytics | Count visits in aggregate. Sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device | Analytics (optional, only with your consent) | None on device |
consent, terms (local storage) | Remember your cookie choice and when you made it | Strictly necessary | Until you clear it or change it |
None of this information is sent to us. Strictly necessary storage does not require consent. Analytics only loads if you choose "Accept all cookies" or switch it on under "Adjust your preferences". You can change your choice at any time via Cookie settings in the footer; withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it.
3. Third-party cookies
We do not set third-party cookies and do not embed advertising, social media or tracking scripts. Map tiles and public data feeds are requested as plain files.
4. How to control or delete them
- Use Reset all in Checklists and Clear on the wallet card.
- Or clear "site data" for this website in your browser settings (Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari all support this).
- Blocking local storage will stop the app saving your progress, but the guide still works.
5. Changes and contact
If we ever add cookies that need your consent, we will ask first and update this page. Questions: info@webzone-cy.com.
